At 3.0 mm thick and 36 mm wide, it's a sturdy blade built for meat prep, not a flexible boning knife.

Care

Pirge recommends hand washing, because dishwasher detergents can leave oxidation spots on the blade. Wash it, dry it right away, and cut on a polyethylene board, which Pirge also recommends.

Questions

Is this a boning knife? No. It's a butcher knife with a straight, 3.0 mm thick blade. A boning knife is narrower and often flexes so it can follow the bone.

Can it go in the dishwasher? Pirge advises against it. Hand wash and dry it to keep the blade free of spots.
