Ceramic Nonstick Stock Pot with Lid, 4.5-Qt
A 4.5-quart pot is the one that gets used most: enough for a pot of soup, a pound of pasta or a braise for four, without the bulk of a stockpot you need two hands and a clear counter to move.
What It Is For
Soups, stews, pasta, braises and anything that finishes in the oven up to 400F. The ceramic interior matters more here than in a frying pan: long simmers are where starch and dairy catch on the bottom, and this surface lets them release. Forged aluminum also means it comes up to heat faster and weighs far less than cast iron of the same volume.
Care
Cook on low to medium heat, add oil or butter before cooking, and avoid heating the pot empty. Use wooden, silicone or nylon utensils, let it cool before washing, then hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge.
