Where these links show up
Most of what we link to is our own catalog, the knives, cookware, and glassware we sell directly. Some articles also link out to products from other brands through affiliate networks, including CJ Affiliate, when we think a specific product genuinely fits what the article is talking about. Those outbound links are marked with a short disclosure note on the page itself, near the link, not buried at the bottom.
What changes, and what doesn't
What changes: if you click one of those links and buy something, we may earn a commission from the retailer. That's the entire arrangement.
What doesn't change: our opinion of the product, what we choose to write about, or the price you pay. We don't get paid to feature a product, and we don't link to something we wouldn't actually recommend, whether it earns a commission or not. If a product isn't good, we say so or we don't link to it at all.
Why we do this
Running a site like this takes real time: recipe testing, product research, writing, keeping the catalog current. Affiliate commissions are one small way this work supports itself, alongside our own product sales. We'd rather be upfront about that than pretend the site runs on goodwill alone.
Questions
Does this cost me anything extra?
No. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly. The commission comes out of the retailer's side, not yours.
Do you link to everything that pays a commission?
No. We link to what we'd genuinely recommend. Plenty of products we could earn a commission on don't show up here because they're not good enough to mention.
How do I know if a link is an affiliate link?
Any page carrying one has a short notice near the top, before you reach the link itself.
